Fourth Annual Harvest Gathering

SEPTEMBER 10-12

Welcome home.

Midsummer is quickly approaching, moving around the cycles of the year, there’s a place and time for each part of the season.  Corn and squash is growing, the grass is green; growing strong to nourish the livestock, farming life has never been more important than in the year of 2021. Bill Gates now owns the largest single amount of farmland in the USA, but on a good note Monsanto got sued for 10 Billion USD for people that have gotten cancer from glyphosate.  Avella Farm is very grateful to be a part of the positive light and share this gathering that has been gaining momentum in the last 4 years. Our gardens are expanding as is the network of community and like minded people. We have this gathering every year in honor of the pagan harvest celebration Mabon. It’s a time for all of us whom sweat, bled, and sometimes cried when there was no rain, to come together and make an amazing community potluck (Sat Sept 11) and share the harvest we have nurtured and cared for. We really encourage everyone to bring organic food from their gardens, farmers markets, or your local farm stand. Together we can make a huge difference and a huge feast!!! Look forward to seeing all you there.

*********This is an off grid gathering with camping available, there aren’t any food vendors so bring your own organic food. As mentioned above we encourage folks to bring local food from local farmers or your own gardens. This year we have a communal kitchen set up so you can personally cook or donate food to the kitchen and there will be some amazing chefs cooking a variety of meals to suit all diets!!   There is an outhouse and composting toilet systems.  Drinking water is plenty. We ask no fires as this is another drought year due to climate change (another reason to think about living  off-grid). Showers? who needs those anyway? But there is a lake close by to go dip into. Please leave the beautiful pets at home as we have animals of our own!!  If you have kids bring them along!!  Parking is also a bit limited so we love when humans can carpool together.  ALCOHOL FREE EVENT!!!  There is also a tremendous amount of work that goes into this FREE participatory gathering and we are recommending a donation this year $25-$100, this helps cover bands and other performances. It is greatly appreciated!!!!
